Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive the captain's direct phone number and email address. We encourage you to reach out a few days before your trip to discuss weather, meeting locations, and specific targets.
Are the captains licensed and insured?
Yes. Every captain on CaptainDirect must go through a verification process where we check their local guide licenses, coast guard credentials (where applicable), and commercial vessel insurance.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation policies vary by captain and are clearly stated on their profile and checkout page. Because you pay the captain directly, any refunds are processed directly by their business according to the stated policy.
Why are prices cheaper here than on other booking sites?
CaptainDirect charges captains a flat monthly fee rather than taking a 15-30% commission on every trip. Captains pass these savings on to you, meaning you get the best direct rate.
